The Smalley Foundation is committed to increasing safety and awareness for those who live, work and play near oil-and-gas equipment and pipelines. We do this by empowering the general public, training first responders and partnering with the industry.
Partnerships
The Smalley Foundation partners with energy companies and other stakeholders to create safety-awareness programs for residents living, working and playing near pipeline and oil-and-gas drilling operations.
We deliver pipeline safety-and-awareness education through partnerships with other non-profits, governmental and educational entities, trade associations and private industry.
Training
The Smalley Foundation believes safety & awareness education is an important and powerful tool that empowers first responders, youths, educators and communities to assess risks and make safe decisions.
We train first responders in rural areas to handle oil-and-gas drilling emergencies that require special knowledge and skills, including incident action plans and tactical response to threats.
Empowering
Empowering youth and young adults with the knowledge to make the right choices can even effect a cultural behavior change in their communities.
The Smalley Foundation and its energy industry partners empower entire communities by educating residents about living, working and playing safely around neighborhood pipeline and oil-and-gas operations.

On The Road!
GET ON BOARD and help us create a safe future for youth and first responders in the Eagle Ford Shale!
The “Get on Board” project is a tour of the Eagle Ford Shale region bringing oil and gas safety and awareness to youth/school systems and first responder agencies.
Seaway Training
Smalley Foundation begins a 22 county Pipeline Safety & Response for Emergency Responders training along the new Enterprise Crude Pipeline, LLC. Seaway Pipeline.
Trainings will stretch from Cushing, Okla., to Houston for emergency responders and local public officials.
Safety Grant Award
The Smalley Foundation received a pipeline safety grant award from USDOT’s PHMSA for San Mateo California School Pipeline Safety Partnership Project.
We are providing customized pipeline safety outreach and support to schools located within 1,050 feet of high-pressure pipelines in San Mateo County.
