Irene Barbosa Berger, Safety Educator - Ext. 103

Barbosa BergerAs a Safety Educator at the Danielle Dawn Smalley Foundation, Irene uses her extensive education and experience to ensure that schools participating in our programs have the highest level of outreach possible. Irene’s school-focused background includes a decade of experience as a public school educator, trainer, facilitator and technology coach. She was also a key member of the “Innovation in Instruction” team within the Organizational Learning department for the school district. Irene worked 13 years as Lead Advisor in the College of Education at Texas Tech University, holds a B.S in Multidisciplinary Studies, an M.S in Education Media Design and Technology, and possesses a Standard teaching certificate issued through the State of Texas.  Ext. 103.

Shelley Kelly, Program Coordinator EXT 102

shelley kellyAs the Program Coordinator for the Danielle Dawn Smalley Foundation, Shelley utilizes her previous five years’ experience as a principal’s secretary to benefit the Foundations ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with school systems. She manages and maintains program databases, coordinates school visits and first responder trainings across the U.S., conducts web-meetings with school officials and pipeline operators, creates GIS maps, and oversees most technological aspects of the Foundations school programming.

Sheila Caguiat, MSW, Executive Director EXT 101

Sheila CaguiatAs the Executive Director at the Danielle Dawn Smalley Foundation, Sheila develops, enhances, manages, and promotes the organizations oil and gas, and pipeline safety programs by working with school officials, industry, and regulatory agencies. She has personally delivered pipeline safety education to school officials in nearly 30 states across the nation on behalf of numerous pipeline companies.

As a non-profit professional, Sheila has 15 years of experience working with tribal, faith-based, public, and private organizations, many which include prevention and safety programming. Sheila holds degrees in child development, sociology, social work, and a master’s degree in social work administration/community practice. She is a member of the Common Ground Alliance and has been published in the Damage Prevention Professional Magazine.
